Crafted with the same attention to detail, the jacket features a blend of American and Zimbabwean cotton yarns, sulfur-dyed black in both warp and weft, mimicking the irregular yarn thickness of the original for an authentic, uneven fade. The weaving process is slow and labor-intensive, producing only a limited amount of fabric per day on vintage Toyoda shuttle looms. The weft is then forcefully driven in, causing the yarns to overlap, resulting in an uneven surface and a tight weave. Fit Notes: Despite being a Japanese jacket, we find the sizing of this Type II to be more Western than Japanese. If you usually wear a size M in American jackets, you'll find a suitable fit with this jacket in size 40 (M). However, as always, we recommend consulting our size chart for the perfect fit. It is unsanforized but one washed, so there will be no shrinkage.
